Meet Debbie - Fleet & Benefits Advisor

• Why did you choose to work for MAN?

  MAN was recruiting for a Fleet & Benefits position, and I had over 12 years’ experience in a blended HR and Fleet role.

  I wanted to work within a smaller team with the opportunity to develop my skills in Payroll and HR.

  I knew of the MAN brand and that it had a strong reputation for looking after their employees.

• Describe what it’s like to work here in three words

  Challenging, Fulfilling and Rewarding.

• What do you get up to in a typical week?

  My week consists of supporting and guiding our employees on all aspects of the Car Schemes – from ordering, onboarding new starters, answering queries to advising on policy and scheme rules.

  Day to day can be very varied with new challenges and trying to find solutions that work for the individual.

  Preparing monthly (and yearly) fleet related payroll and finance reports.

  Overseeing insurance related issues and linked administration.

• What has been your proudest moment at work?

  My team being nominated and winning ‘Best Team’ at the MAN Excellence 2022 Awards.

• What makes someone successful here?

  Acting with integrity - someone who is a team player, consistent and honest.

• How have you and your career developed since you joined us?

  I feel my self-confidence has grown and I’ve learned a lot about Trucks! I’ve expanded my knowledge of behind-the-scenes payroll and many HR topics.
   

• What’s the best thing about working for MAN?

  Being part of a supportive team where my contribution is valued and respected.

• What’s been your proudest moment outside of work?

  Having my two children - Jack (now 23) and Mollie (now 17).

• If you could invite 3 people to a dinner party, who would they be?

  Cillian Murphy, Dave Grohl and David Attenborough.

• Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us?

  2023 I did Glastonbury festival solo!  It was the most liberating thing I’ve ever done on my own. I had the most amazing experience, made some great friendships and unforgettable memories.

• What’s your favourite film?

  It has to be ‘The Great Gatsby’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

• What’s your signature dish?

  Chicken Katsu Curry.
