  • About the Team

Our Service Technicians work in friendly teams across the UK as part of the bigger MAN network. Everyone is supported and enabled to be their best, learning new skills on the job and working with some of the most innovative technology anywhere in the industry.

From new joiners to experts who have been with us for much longer, our team is made up of a diversity of skills, knowledge and experience. What they all share is a willingness to work as one team to support each other, share knowledge and enable continuous professional development: there is always something new to learn and new goals to achieve.

  • What it’s like to work here

You’ll find that our workshops are friendly, flexible and fun environments where we’re proud to do the best possible job for our customers. Your team will be happy to answer any questions you have and your manager will support your continued learning throughout your career here.

What people like most about working here, apart from the prestige of working under the MAN marque, is that hard work is always appreciated and rewarded. Your colleagues will support you just as you support them and everyone is focused on ensuring our customers enjoy an exceptional experience.

  • Typical projects / tasks

Our workshops are busy places where tasks vary day-by-day and depending on what kinds of vehicles we’re working on.

Our aim is to minimise customers’ downtime by keeping their vehicles on the road, carrying out efficient, effective routine maintenance. That could include a wide variety of tasks from carrying out basic safety inspections, to stripping an rebuilding and 16 speed gear box or carrying out electrical diagnostic fault-finding. As the technology evolves, so does the opportunity to learn new skills and acquire more knowledge.

  • Our approach to learning

Depending on your experience, your training will be tailored to help you grow your skills and knowledge. Learning and development here are continuous throughout your career. There are many ways of learning, including on the job training, off site courses, coaching, diplomas, and web based platforms. There is the opportunity to progress through our structured Tech Grading Programme which can help you to take advantage of career opportunities and increase your earning potential.

  • Career pathways

Most of our Technicians join us as apprentices, building the foundations of a progressive career. After qualification, technicians can move into roles such as a supervisor, workshop manager, branch manager, field support engineer or technical support advisor. The skills and knowledge a technician has are also useful in a range of admin-based roles.
