Meet Michelle - Business Process Manager

• Why did you choose to work for MAN?

  The MAN+ Digitalisation Programme is taking process improvement to the next level, transforming the way people work. I joined MAN 19 months ago, and was lucky to be recruited into this exciting journey from the start.

• Describe what it’s like to work here in three words.

  Encouraging, challenging and exciting.

• What do you get up to in a typical week?

  As a Business Process Manager my role is to identify processes which would benefit from automation. Working with the operational experts to design, develop and rollout system applications for the management of business workflows and provide valuable business intelligence. 

• What’s been your proudest moment at work?

  It does make me smile when my 8-year-old son corrects people on their pronunciation when clarifying that Mummy works for M.A.N not Man.

• What makes someone successful here?

  A positive, team mentality is essential when it comes to effective improvement. The ability to see the bigger picture and be considerate of the wider implications is a valuable key to success. This ensures all necessary parties are engaged and working collaboratively to common goals.

• How have you and your career developed since you joined us?

  I can now hold a reasonably plausible conversation with any truckers I bump into! I also have a new automation software under my belt.

• What’s the best thing about working for MAN?

  The business has been very receptive to change, it’s greatly appreciated when the work you are doing is welcomed with enthusiasm.

  A little obvious but my two children (on their good days!)

• If you could invite 3 people to a dinner party, who would they be?

  (The late) Joan Rivers, Sara Cox and Boris Johnson.

• Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.

  I can say the alphabet as fast backwards as forward.

• What’s your favourite film?

  True Romance.
