Meet Jake - Finance Operations Manager
Why did you choose to work for MAN?
I’ve been involved in the motor trade ever since I started my career in finance and I love it. I knew of MAN well before I started in finance, when building their exhibitions stands with my Dad. When I had some offers to move to where I currently work, it was these memories of the cool looking trucks and stands that made my decision.
Describe what it’s like to work here in three words.
Fast, busy and enjoyable.
What’s been your proudest moment at work?
When the company announcement was sent out to MTB UK regarding my promotion to my current role.
What makes someone successful here?
The person needs to be resilient, outgoing, willing to put themselves out of their comfort zone, have a continuous improvement approach, be inquisitive and proactive.
How have you and your career developed since you joined us?
I joined as a Finance Business Partner for Topused, this then quickly developed into a steering role as well, with additional operational responsibilities. The steering element and operational responsibility became full time so I moved out of finance to go and work in TopUsed as the sales steering manager. Six months after this I was promoted in finance to my current role.
