Meet Gavin - Head of Van – Central

• Why did you choose to work for MAN?

  I had worked closely with MAN for almost three years in my previous role and I had only heard great things about the business and culture they have. When an opportunity arose for me to join, I didn’t hesitate in making that step.

• Describe what it’s like to work here in three words.

  Professional, friendly, and organised.

• What do you get up to in a typical week?

  My week consists of meeting with our superb dealer network, current and potential customers and working with my team to make sure we deliver 100% satisfaction in all aspects of our roles.

• What’s the best thing about working for MAN?

  So far, I really enjoy the collaboration with the other departments. We are tasked with projects that in our typical day-to-day we wouldn’t come across. It helps not only in developing ourselves, but makes MAN stronger.

• What’s been your proudest moment outside of work?

  As it will be for most, but raising a beautiful, clever, now eight year old son. Odds have been stacked against him since his diagnoses but here we are almost nine years later, and he’s proving everybody wrong. 

• If you could invite 3 people to a dinner party, who would they be?

  Denzel Washington, Ally McCoist and Ricky Gervais.

• Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.

  I was a part of a very small advert for the BBC when I was 11. My Grandma couldn’t believe her eyes when I was on the TV and no one had given her the heads up!

• What’s your favourite film?

  Its tough. Most Denzel films are fantastic, but Training Day always comes to the front of my mind when I am asked this question.

• What’s your signature dish?

  It’s super easy to make and quite boring, but a camembert with different meats and bread is my go-to meal.
