Working in HR

A heritage of precision engineering and a reputation for innovation are at the heart of what we do. And while those qualities have got us this far, its our people who are the real pride of MAN.

So we support and encourage them, ensure they can work confidently and comfortably, empower them to be the best they can be and to see how they can be even better – evolving technology and a growing business mean there are always opportunities to learn.

Our teams in HR enjoy the same culture of change and continuous improvement. And as they support our teams across the UK from everything such as everyday payroll to more ambitious promotions, we support them to grow their HR knowledge in line with industry best practice and to find their way, whether in a generalist or specialist role.

We’re proud to look after our people and we’ll look after you too.

  • About the team

Our dynamic, diverse HR team apply a range of skills and a wealth of knowledge to looking after our people, from recruitment to rewards and benefits, payroll and pensions, learning and development.

Right now, key areas of focus for the team include automating processes and reducing both the volume of paper used and manual work carried out.

  • What it’s like to work here

The team set out every day to make working life better for all our people and especially internal stakeholders. They take care of the day-to-day and look ahead to see how they can improve systems and processes for everyone’s benefit. Typical tasks include making sure we have the right people in the right place through effective recruitment, resolving any issues, giving employee advice, payroll and MI reporting. They also manage rewards and benefits that include company car schemes and loan cars, as well as pensions. The HR team also take the lead on implementing L&D initiatives and training, such as Apprenticeships.

  • Our approach to learning

HR is a rapidly evolving and progressive area and the team here are encouraged to stay up to date with best practice and maintain their knowledge and skills.

  • Career pathways

Working within a diverse business with a wide variety of roles and opportunities, HR offers lots of opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge, whether through specialisation, generalisation or beyond into broader career opportunities.
