Proudly Celebrating Our Apprentices
Our recent awards event in Manchester brought together apprentices from all programmes and nations so we could highlight their achievements, play some golf and enjoy some cocktails!
We first started The MAN Apprentice of the Year competition in 2001 so we could recognise commitment, determination, hard work, team spirit and passion. Since 2017, our apprenticeship programme has seen more than 370 apprentices graduate. Right now, we have more than 150 in training, making us proud daily. It’s exciting to think that they’ll keep tomorrow’s MAN Trucks, Vans and Buses out on the road – they really are the future of our business. Glen Crompton, our Customer Service Management Director and award host, said: “Everyone here today has shown a high level of professionalism in the workplace, clearly demonstrated model attitudes and behaviour traits, moreover, they have openly displayed a focus and drive to succeed.”
At the awards, we celebrate the Rising Star Award for the new, current apprentices who showcase potential, plus our values and behaviours to help create WOW moments that make a true difference. The People Award is for current or previous apprentices who are passionate, thoughtful and responsible in their actions, whether in their role or within MAN. Our Customer Award is for past or present apprentices who deliver and go above and beyond to meet customer needs. The Impact Award, also for previous or current apprentices, acknowledges passion, thoughtfulness and responsibility. Our Apprentice Champion of the Year is for any MAN colleague who has championed apprenticeships.
Our apprenticeships do more than teach job skills; they help with life development, too. Poppy Wolfarth, our Early Careers Business Partner, knows the importance of the apprenticeship journey: “The awards presented honour those who have gone above and beyond both at their workplace and throughout their apprenticeship journey. The experience and learning our apprentices receive will undoubtedly provide the technical expertise and in-depth product knowledge that will enable them to deliver outstanding service to our customers way into the future.”
The MAN Truck & Bus UK Apprentice of the Year winners were:
