One day can make all the difference
As part of our Corporate Strategy, as well as looking after our People, we have also made the commitment to engage with our local communities and make an impact to those around us.
We want to make a difference to our local communities and our employees; research has firmly established the benefits of volunteering to people’s well-being and sense of purpose, not to mention their physical and mental health.
Which is why, we’re really proud to have launched our new Volunteering Policy at the beginning of the year. This new policy allows all our employees the opportunity to take one day to volunteer with a charity, or good cause, that they feel passionate about in their local community.
Since we launched, we’ve seen lots of our employees getting involved in a variety of things, whether that be redecorating office spaces, clearing and redesigning communal gardens or even a beach clean. This has been an amazing opportunity for many of teams to come together and give something back to the local community that they live and work in. For many, it has also had the added benefit of bringing teams back together to bond and build up their relationships when they would otherwise be spread all over the country.
The efforts we have made so far has been really positive and we hope that more of our employees will be inspired to get involved in their local communities’ initiatives.
Our community
We are using International Men’s Day as a springboard to focus on mental health and wellbeing. This morning, we explored key themes like resilience, connection, and the unique pressures men face—from balancing work and family to redefining strength. A huge thank you to our speakers, Stefan Thyssen, Lewis Monk, Ashlea Awbery, and Toni Ward, for their insights on fostering mental health and building a workplace culture rooted in support and understanding. At MAN, we’re not just about supporting people—we're about empowering them, whatever their gender. By breaking down barriers and equipping our teams to have open, meaningful conversations, we aim to drive change across our industry. Let’s keep the conversation going. Together, we can make a difference and support open communication within the haulage and logistics industry. #MentalHealth #PeopleDriven #MANTruckAndBus #CommunitySupport
