One charity. Three Peaks. Endless Pride.
Taking pride in what we do and why we do it is something everyone at MAN gets behind. That’s why when our team shares an ambition to raise money, we’re ready to support and encourage them every step of the way. This year, The Pride chose the Alzheimer’s Society for our fundraising efforts because we all recognise how valuable this charity’s help and guidance are for people (and their families) affected by dementia.
The challenge itself was not going to be an easy one! Taking on the Three Peaks involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, with many people attempting to do so within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km), and the total ascent is 3,064 metres (10,052ft).
With many members of The Pride knowing first-hand what it’s like to have close relatives affected by dementia, we weren’t surprised by the number of people eager to be involved. As our Managing Director in the UK, it was great to have Stefan Thyssen as part of the team and explains why he took part, “On the one hand, it is a great personal challenge - mentally and physically challenging. But it also clears the head incredibly well and creates lots of thinking time individually and as a team. This challenge has great visibility and impact, hopefully giving us good opportunities to raise lots of money for Alzheimer’s Society.”
As you’d expect with a peak challenge, there were plenty of highs, lows and everything in between. Even with some members of The Pride unable to tackle the third mountain due to traffic issues, the others forged on and completed the final ascent with a smaller team. “We were able to complete all three peaks thanks to the strong support of our colleagues. It was a mental and physical challenge (the biggest one of my life so far), but being surrounded by the team made it a lot easier and increased my motivation. It took a big push to get to the summit for the third time. I am incredibly proud of the team and all we achieved together both individually, collectively and for the Alzheimer’s Society”
With a target set of £10,000, we’re proud to share that their efforts have currently reached £15,000, with no signs of donations slowing down. If you would like to see where we reached (or donate), you can here.

Day five is officially in the bag for our MAN #CycleKenya2024 team, and what an incredible day it was! 🤩 After passing through Eldoret, the 'City of Champions', the day before, they were up early and ready for a gruelling ride in the 32-degree heat 🥵. Cycling through Kakamega Forest, James somehow found himself with a new job as a tea picker, while Joe brightened the day for local children by gifting them a football and sweets, which they loved. Amazing work, team, and thank you for the update! #MANTruckAndBus #TeamMAN #CycleKenya2024 #Transaid #CharityChallenge #RoadSafety #PeopleDriven
🌍♻️ Sustainability at IAA Transportation 2024 wasn't just in our vision for decarbonizing road freight—it was built into our stand too! We used reusable aluminum, wood, and glass, which will be repurposed for future events. By renting furniture and plants, we also minimised waste, while surplus food was donated to local shelters. From refillable water bottles and paper name badges, we believe that every small step counts toward a more sustainable future. 🌱 #IAA2024 #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #SustainableTransport #MANTruckAndBus #GreenFuture #ZeroWaste #peopledriven #Events"
It’s day three of the Transaid #cyclekenya2024 challenge, and our riders have been cycling through the stunning Great Rift Valley between Nyahururu and Kabarnet. 🇰🇪 Check out some of these pics from their journey so far. Keep going team, we’re all proud of you! 👏 #MANTruckAndBus #TeamMAN #CycleKenya2024 #Transaid #CharityChallenge #RoadSafety #peopledriven
